Thanks CB and Seakindly for bringing this topic up again!!

We have a new "how to" section on the board to help new folks become familiar with some of the features and quirks to the site.

If you have YaBB Message Board / Gallery "how to" related questions please post them on the new "how To" board.

Ozzie - When you say "rejected" do you mean you couldn't login or upload the photos?

If you couldn't login

1) try using firefox for the web browser
2) make sure that the address for the gallery shows as

http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery

and NOT:

http://wellcraftv20.com/gallery

------------------------------------------------
If you can login and have trouble uploading:

1. check the file size of the pics. Files bigger than 200kb will give you trouble (also take up too much space on the server). Use the details view in windows explorer to see file size.

Dear list moderator:
Where is the spellcheck?
I have a problem. Please would someone be kind enough to help me?
I have read forums in the past. This is my first post to any forum.

My general questions are: What is the approx weight, length, height, and outside diameter for a 1985 Wellcraft V20 steplift, with a Yamaha V-6 outboard on a single axle loadrite trailer? Can someone please recommend a source/website to get this information if no one knows?
The owner does not know and has no publications. I recently purchased the boat and need to make shipping arrangements. These are the questions I am getting from different shippers? Also, in case the boat is towed here behind a tow vehicle. The boat is located approx 915 miles north of me. If this is the wrong category/forum for these questions, please let me know.
I goggled WellcraftV20 and reached this forum.
Further, can someone recommend a dependable/reliable shipper to accomplish this without my wallet having a heart attack?
Excited,
Thanks in advance for any help/assistance.
Joe

2700 for the boat,
400 for the motor,
and I would say 1000 for the trailer, hard to say on the trailer? *

Total 4100 pounds, that should get you close to what you are looking for.

Welcome to the site! You could have just started a new thread in the general section.

Thank you very much macojoe for the timely reply with the approx weights.
The estimate I received moments ago for a tractor trailer (flat bed) is $1,100. *(Ouch!)
Thank you for the tip on starting a new thread. *A little bit about the boat. *The seller is the original owner and my former neighbor. *He took great care of it. * I loved being on it and I do not know how to put into words... I loved it. *I walked by it everyday in the Glimmer Glass Cove during warm months and walked by it every day in his driveway on the trailer during the cold months. *I was looking for a similar boat. *He called me last night. *I thought he was teasing me. *He confirmed the sale earlier today. *Now, I could drive up there on weekends and use it. *The one way distance is only 915 miles.
The web site looks great and helpful. I am too tired to read it now. *Will read it in its entirety, later, after some rest. *Maybe... I can be of service or help here one day.

Macojoe any questions, comments, or suggestions are appreciated and encouraged .

Excited,
Joe Student

Hey Joe< I used a company to move my boat from Virginia to Florida. they have a trailer that will load the boat and trailer together, it cost me about $900 to move it, it took a day and 1/2 to get here, got here in excellent shape. They are LTM boat transport, ask for Lance - look for my post in the For sale section - the topic is 83 V20 for sale - email me If I can help with info.

Thanks Franco,

I just received a quote of .50 cents a mile (one way) and tolls. *His rig sounds similar to what you used.
Later, I will email you a copy of his ad. *
We came to a tentative agreement. *I want to verify/check his references/insurance, etc. *Franco, I will email you so you can have my email address. *This is all new to me. *I do not IM, nor do I have IM on this computer. * Thanks for the offer of assistance. *Right now I do not even know the questions. *

Excited like a child in a candy store.

Franco, no lucky with the email.

I clicked on the...email icon on the left side of your message and a new window opened with a blank page.
the bottom of the page read "Done". I am going to change my personal preferences for this forum. Maybe this will help.
...maybe...

Yes, I will do as you suggested in your last message. Thanks Franco.

Go Baby Go, I just went through this myself, I am in Raleigh NC, and drove to Ft Meyers Fl to pick mine up. 850 miles one way, left Fri am at 130am home Saturday at 11:15 pm. Tired? yes, but 300.00 in gas and a vacation day was cheaper than the 1k its going to cost. Plus, it gave me and the misses alone time w/no kids! No problems at all, in fact I will probably buy my nect boat the same way, boats in FL are a lot cheaper than Mid-Atlantic. Good Luck! ;D

Finn, I plan on doing the same thing this Friday and Saturday. I bought my V20 from a guy in Palm Beach and I live near Annapolis MD. Much cheaper in the long run, plus it gives me an opportunity to see how the trailer behaves, not to mention the opportunity to see the boat with my own eyes before handing over the cash.
