Well I bought replacement decals for my boat this last fall. They are the ones that go on the side towards the stern. They replace the factory original WELLCRAFT and the "W"......
So my question is......do I put them on now or wait until after I wax her this spring?

You should put them on before you wax as the wax could prevent a good bond to the hull.

That is what I thought, just not sure. Guess I should just clean the hell out of it before I put them on. Any suggestions on what to use to clean her before I put on the decals?

I agree with Alcohol. I perfer 5 or 6 shots to get the shaking out of my hands. Then just slap it on. I need the same decals how does the quality of those look? Do you know if they have a clear film over the decal? That usually is a good sign of quality but not always. Allot of people leave it on in error and it cracks in a year or so and they think its cheap tape or decal. I use to stripe cars and some boats for a living and can still run them pretty straight but it takes allot longer. Just make sure about that film because if it has the film and you don't remove it they will be history in a year.

clean surface with as about but then install with soapy water. mix dish soap in spary bottle with water just a little bit of soap. then spray on the location you wish stick to be and peel back apply on the soapy area then slide it around till you like the placement and use a bondo paddle to squeegy the soapy water away from the decal getting all the air bubbles out but once you do this the decal is there to stay so have it right before you do the squeegy,

Been looking at a few myself CY. See some nice one's on E-Bay. I'll get to it around spring time. Even though today was quite a warm day. 8)

I've seen the one's on ebay and was worried about quality so thanks for the help. If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for yours because I have seen different prices and was it the same size as the old decal? I am also looking for the black SPORTSFISHER sticker but have had no luck.

I was going mention the soap thing but was not sure if you could use soap on all decals.

CY: ONE WORD OF ADVISE, DO NOT APPLY THEM ON A DRY HULL, WET THE AREA WHERE YOU'RE GOING TO STICK IT, THAT WOULD ALLOW YOU TO CENTER IT, THEN GET A 6" PLASTIC SPATULA AND GO OVER IT SOFTLY TO MAKE SURE YOU GET ANY AIR BUBBLE OUT, LET IT DRY A LITTLE AND FINALLY TAKE THE OUTER SHEET.
NOTE: I HAVE A PRINT SHOP NEXT DOOR AND THAT'S HOW THEY DO IT.
