I tallied up all my receipts today and cant believe all the money I have spent on my V. This encludes everything from sand paper, to screws, tape, washers, paint rollers all the way up to rewiring, fuse box, batteries, paint, guages, tune up, wiring harness, prop, ect, ect.
I put close to 5 grand into the boat. When I look at the boat, I wonder where did all the money go. I dont see it. :( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

But I did have a first great season with her. ;D
Will make it a tax write of for Shipwreck research in the De. Bay. ;)

I made the mistake of keeping track of how much I spent when I fixed up my 72 Chebby Pickem up (over 10K). *:o *

I will never make that mistake again.

72 Chevy shortbed, fleet side. *It's a Cheyenne. *It was my grandfathers truck, and my first vehicle.

I rebuilt the 350 for the second time, it has around 220K miles on it. *I also replaced the stock 3 speed column shift manual trans with a 700 R 4.

The trans was a big expense, and replacing all of the rusted metal was a huge expense.

But it looks good to me.

I still have work to do on the inside, but I have these boats to work on too.

BOAT ---- It means Break Out Another Thousand.

You got to pay to play. I am redoing a 46 ford coupe.
Have resorted to hiding the receipts from my wife. If she finds out what I have spent on this project would be sleeping with cat on the couch

Hammer, the before and after pics of your V show a big difference. I'd say it was worth it. 8)

Hammer, a boat is nothing more than a hole in the water that you throw your money into ;D ;D. Like I tell the SWMBO, I could be out bar hopping so it could be worse.

I have double that hammer and then some!! I wasted a lot of cash when it was a I/O when I should have converted from the get go!!

$2000 Boat (no out drive)
$1500 Out drive
$ 700 to repair out drive (first guy didn't do it right)
$1000 new head, manifold, riser
$1000 new gimble, bellows, trim cylinder
$ 500 oil pan, engine coupler
$ 400 Bracket
$1800 used outboard
$ 400 loss on 2nd motor
$ 700 3rd used outboard
$2400 new trailer
$ 500 new starboard stuff

Thats $12,900 and doesn't count the new axle and stuff for the old trailer, not counting cables, steering, bolts screws, seats, winch, safety equipment, GPS, fish finder, and the list goes on and on and on!!!!!!

If I had all the cash at once I could buy a great boat right now!!!!

As with any hobby, if you sell, you will never get out the time and effort
put into it.

I don't even think about costs, I just do it. ;)

Not too far off mine...good example of why I've said in the past, when a real nice one comes along and they want BIG $$, sometimes it's well worth it ;) 8) ...
