When I get to work tonight I am asking for a raise!! :'(

Now let me ask you, is that price include the install?? (I am sure it doesn't)
Why SS Prop, I notice a lot of new motor people go SS Is there a reason?

And if you wanted to could you install your self??
I know Yamaha will not give you warrantee if you install yourself.

Mj This price does include install and ss prop I dont know the reasons for ss prop but its ok with me .... as far as install if it were made of wood I could do it ... but its not my expertise so iam more than willing to let them install ;D

With install I guess thats not bad! I would have installed myself, as long as they let you!!

But you rich guys don't have to lower your selfs to that small task! ;)

most of the time I save $$ but then there are others when CB helps me to find my way out the habar and we hit rocks and things, thats were I spend! :(

I think most of the people on this board are a combination of diy and hands on. we are a site devoted to a boat that has been out of production for more than a decade. the older i get, the more i realize that is is usually better to do what i do for a living & pay some one else to do what they do for a living.

As I get a better grasp on middle age, I am starting to realize the same thing. OF course most of my life I COULDN"T afford to pay to have it done. I mean, if money were no object I'd have a fleet of boats for every purpose ;D

03-05-2007, 12:31 AM
if i could afford to pay someone else to do my hobby i wouldn't have a 20 yr old boat it would be a new one

But it also depends on your line of work. As a contractor, the more work Lumber can perform, the more revenue he can produce.....so get out there and produce that revenue. Most of us probably have a steady income. IF I work 30 or 80 this week, I wind up with the same check.

Airslot, I'd pick 30. ;D

Congrats on the new pusher LS. *

I'm sure you did good on the price but wow, I can't believe how much an outboard motor costs these days.

As for DIY or pay, I have no choice, I don't have the money.

Just tell him to add a fixed jack plate, that will raise it 5 inches giving him a short shaft.

Hope he makes out well!

I thought going to a short shaft was easy, by just putting a short shaft lower unit on??

I know going longer means a spacing kit and other stuff, making it harder??

See you learn something new every day!!

Lumberslinger178, can't wait to hear about your first run. Tom Jarvis and his crew are great people to deal with. He does my repairs. After you pick up the boat head up to Allens seafood in New Gretna and get some deep fried lobester :) . Also if you take your camera see if you can get pictures of the 86 Wellcraft dual console with 225 suzuki for $8000. that Jarvis Marine Brocker has listed. Crusher
