You are going to have to pull it once or twice, and invest in a power washer, that will help a lot!
Other wise get some real good anti foul paint, but watch the copper stuff on the lower unit unless you add alot on zinc!

Also that stuff loves to grow inside also!!
Thats why it is a good thing for boats in water all year have a new water pump every season!!

Did a quick search. Have no idea if this stuff works but it might be worth a try.

Why do I suspect the the phrase "Environmentally Friendly" isn't on the label?

Be careful about getting on the fiberglass, it mentions Aluminum only??

Pressure wash, scrape and make sure you clean real good around the bellows. Do not use bottom paint, use outdrive paint. If you scrape to bare metal, use a good primer first.

It just got a new pump last spring, you think she need another? she ran fine all year and to the ramp the day i pulled her?

I think you are fine for at least one more year on that pump if not more.
Don't forget to use those barnacles for sheepshead bait *;)
Hey that got me thinking. If you could put a cage around your outdrive and put oh lets say 2 maybe 3 sheepshead in there you wouldn't have anything to worry about ;D :P

Ahh, BOATING...trailer and deal w/trailering...slip and deal w/ sea varmits ::) ... $hit or go blind :P ... ain't it WONDERFUL!! ;D ...
Ya gonna replace RR rope?....I's thinkin' instead od doin' whole thing maybe you could cut away ends equal distance on transom; put center-piece back in and cover splices some creative way ... LOTS easier than replacing all :D ...

Nylon stretches!! You must have been pulling on it pretty tight to get it stiff enough to get in the grove. Then after it relxed and the heat of the days it pulled it selfn back toghter.

When I did mine, I twisted the rope while installing rather than stretching. The theory being it may even grow as it unspun. No gaps in mine after 2 years.

The ends of my rope insert have heatshrink on them and are secured with an SS screw / finish washer.

Sometime life is so simple we forget the obvious. The REAL reason mine has not moved in 2 years is that it too is screwed in on the ends and therefore it cannot move. DUHHHH!!!!
