My Sitex CVS 106 arrived the other day that I bought off of ebay. It seems to work in the kitchen. I have ordered a transom mount transducer for it.

Si-tex is built about 45 minutes from me in St petersburg. They make excellent equipment, trusted by all of the commercial guys down here. I've got a Si-tex LORAN that is older than the V-20, and it still works.

I use to have sitex Loran, I thought they were going to shut down Lorain service a few years ago??

they just finished doing a major overhaul of the system. better than ever. i still use it all the time when hunting spots. i use the gps to get me in the area and then the loran to find the spot. i tried using gps only, but i learned running numbers and the gps is too accurate. i can't hold a boat in a 10 ft circle, but i can in a 50 ft.

I have an old Sea Ranger loran that I am going to put on my V to get me back to all my old fishing spots, all of them are loran numbers. I have converted some of them to LL, but there are so many that I'd rather just get there with a loran and remark on the gps.

Loran is still going fine, the Lorain sevice was shut down by Vice.

I've never heard of them but it sounds like it's a good one. Let us know if you find any fish in your kitchen. ;D
