Today's Etec sighting...

Stopped by the harbor this afternoon and the Coasties were out doing patrols. I caught a glance of their standard RIB, about 20-22' I'd guess, and she was well hung, with a pair of 150 Etecs. I got a really poor pic and my phone. I'll get it up tomorrow if its worthwhile.

Hammer, not sure how long them little blue pills been out now, but I remember telling wifey that if it ever got to that point, that she wasn't doing her job and it was time for a trade in. That went over like a fart in a space suit, but oh well ;D

Now, that RIB was essentially the same size as our V20's, the thing has got to haul tail with a pair of 150 tecs on it ;D

I remember when I was a Coastie in Chicoteague the small boat station got Honda 4 strokes for their RHI. I just couldn't get over how quiet those things were. Made me wish I was a Boatswains Mate. They have all the fun, with the small boats anyway.

Has anybody heard any confirmed negative reports on the E-Tecs yet. I checked out their site the other night but they did not have any bad items to recall.

These motors havent been out long enough for me to say they are as good as advertised. I am hoping they will live up to what they are advertising.

I've not heard a complaint from an owner yet. I'll get the skinny on that coastie RIB soon enough I'm sure. There is a guy in our community with a Grady 190T, similiar to our boats, that has a 150Etec that he got last year. I know he loves his.

Yep. blowing right good. IT should let up in a few hours, then blow again tomorrow as I understand it. Then it stays N NW 10-20 the rest of the week. Looks like we will warm up over the weekend ;D

THree times a week. Thats my main ramp, even running to the ocean. It's halfway tween home and work.

Might have to try it one day this summer. Chincoteague is to hard to get to from Gargatha on any thing other then high tide.

Yup, but its a two way street, hard to get to Gargatha from here ;D I'd be happy to show you around Chinc bay one day reel soon ;)

I would not want to get to Gargatha from there. Chincoteague has a better inlet so I'm told. Not much water in Gargatha, but after this storm it could be a total different story.

Chinc inlet is easy. After this week, some of the smaller inlets, well, they are sure to have changed ::)

Then again, if your wanting to get in the ocean, Curtis Merrit Harboe is a straight shot out the inlet, whereas G'Backville is like 11 miles.

Hopfully for the better. Just south of Gargatha there is a wash over, starting of a small inlet. I used to be able to go through there, but not since that wash over.

Hmmmm, sounds like a place to go surf fishing, but I'm not much on surf fishing. I just no they make good places

I dont do any surf fishing. Bought a new Walmart rod and reel for some surf fishing 7 years ago and it's still in the plastic wrapping in the basement.

I've got two, I make one surf trip a year usually, but I missed that one last year. I have to admit, when you can get on the big reds in the surf, its something special. Problem is, it doesn't happen often ???
