Now I'm a "real" member of the site. ;D ;D

Picked up the V this weekend. As a few may know I have been working on buying the V-21 that was on Ebay a month or so ago here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wellcraft-V-21-Steplift-Cuddy-Cabin-150-HP-Yamaha-OB_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ80651QQitemZ22009107 0098QQrdZ1#ebayphotohosting

After renting a trailer and driving for 2 days it's finally here!! Well not here at home but at a marina. I haven't even had a chance to take pics with the NorEaster and all but that Ebay ad has tons of good pics!

Nice to finally be an owner and not a lurker! Hopefully I can take her out next weekend, after doing a few things. Need to install a VHF (already bought one) and some new scuppers and little odds and ends but other than that she's ready to go!

A big thanks to everyone here, especially MacoJoe and Skool for providing their expertise and guiding me along. But everyone's posts and experiences here have helped a lot in finding and choosing the right V! 8) 8) 8)

More to come when I get her launched this weekend...barring another dam Noreaster!!!!! ;D

Somehow I knew those Ebay pics wouldn't satisfy your craviings Hammer !! ;D ;D

Paid $8k, there is a small soft spot in the floor which I consulted Skool and Macojoe about prior to buying, but other than that it looks better in person than the pics even show! Only in salt water 1 time 10 years ago, on that lift on Lake Norman the rest of its life!

Thanks Randle...Glad to be in the club finally too! 8)

Well HAMMER, you know the back up plan for Tee's.

GB - that is a sweet ride.

I notice that on later years like yours, they have
molded the seat boxes right into the floor.
Is there access doors to use them as storage?

Thanks everyone...it's exciting to finally make it a reaility!

The port seat has a built in cooler under the rear seat bottom. The seat bottom lifts off and there is a small cover that just comes out to reveal the cooler, which drains overboard too. The starboard side behind the helm seat is a live well, which also drains overboard and could be used as a livewell, but I suppose a cooler/fish box as well. ;D

Nope -- sorry, Gator, you're not welcome here. This site is called "Wellcraft V-20.com." V-21s will not get you into our good graces. However, I can help you out. I'll trade you my 20 for your 21, that way you'll be legit. K?

Seriously, that's one sweet looking vessel. May you have many wonderful years together. 8)

and could be used as a livewell, but I suppose a cooler/fish box as well.Matter of fact, I've only used mine as a fish box although, it does make a dandy livewell.

Nice boat Gator! Glad to have another V-21er on here, but I need you to hurry up and get that thing banged up and dirty so I can go back to the #1 V-21 status :-* :P

Yea Dawg is a state of mind ;)

Gator good job man, I cannot imagine that year lift kept boat would have any real problem with a soft spot unless you are talking about one of the hatch covers, tank covers etc. You did good, I saw that one a few days after I put my down payment on my G3 and it bothered me for days, agonized over the reasons I sold my V and second guessed my self over and over. In the end it worked out, I did the right thing and a good guy got the Lake Norman V21
Congrats ;)

Blue_Runner

Yeah, where is this "soft spot"??

Love that mooring cover. If you want to sell it I know someone interested ;D

That is a safe bet! ;D 8)

I love to fish. I am fairly new up here to the seasonal fishing and stripers, looking forward to it though! I am from Florida so used to fish offshore mostly. Can't wait to get her out on the bay!

As for the soft spot, it's sort of in the middle of the rear area just in front of and under the bench seat in the rear. I suspect perhaps water could have gotten in either that rear deck plate or the recessed brackets which you screw that bench seat into. I think I will remove both and use maybe 4200 or 5200 on both of them just to prevent further intrusion.

I also need to seal up around the drain tubes in the motor well. I think some moisture may have entered there due to a gap in where the brass tube exits the transom. I removed the scuppers to replace them and some water seeped out of the bottom hole, but it seems dry now. So I'm letting it dry good this week and will epoxy that up this weekend and put on the new scuppers. The transom is solid as a rock, I can jump on the motor and get no flex, so hopefully it's just aorund those tubes. I guess I'll know more when I start drilling to mount a transducer. I figure the more I can do to prevent it now before using the better in the long run.

Thanks everyone and yes Blue should still be top dawg ;D ;D

I will. I am keeping it in dry dock right now so that cover isn't even going to be on it most of the time I don't think. I may use it, but not sure just yet if it's necessary inside the boatel.

It's new he had it made a few months ago I think.

congradulations! nice boat and at 8g's, not to bad.....did you take the hydrohoist as well? Good luck!

Thanks! No I did not want the hydrohoist lift. It was neat but I also assume there is a reson that I've never seen them around salt water. I can't see that scissor mechanism lasting too long but could be wrong.

And yes HAMMER I will clear the entire memory card to get some shots this weekend...maybe even some profgress of VHF install etc. ;D ;D
