This is my 250 SEARAY CUDDY CABIN. Pulled the engine TUESDAY(just got the camera this mornin though), and cleaned and checked her WEDNESDAY. Boat appears to have sunk down on the starboard aft corner due to a bad bellows. Engine was locked and junk and most of the interior in the rear is soft as well. But hopin to get her goin again soon.

I'm located in FLORIDA, the boat was previously in JERSEY(where it sank). I came about it SEPTEMBER 2006 through my buddy who hauled it back to FLORIDA. He bought it on E-bay for $3400 back in NOVENMER 2004 and the guy told him it was a running boat just needed cleaning. He showed up to pick it up on a FRIDAY evening and it wasn't ready for sea-trial like they agreed so the seller knocked off $500 and he drug it all the way back to FLORIDA. He brought it to me to get it running and I found all the bad news as soon as I popped the engine cover off. He owed me some money from a JEEP engine I did for him so he gave me the boat in trade(I know bad deal). It took me almost 2 months to get a title for it, but I finally got the title in my name. So it's time to GET'R DONE!
I'm the one doing the engine work(UNFORTUNATELY), and all of the other repairs. I prefer working on outboards, but this thing is worthless like it sits. Of the 2 engines I picked up last weekend, one of them is free so I'm going to clean it up and set it in there and replace all of the bellows and such to stop the leaks up. It was amazing how much water could come in around the shift cable through that small hole in the shift bellows. And since I've finally got a camera I'm gonna try and make myself take pics.
The one on the left is free, the one on the right is locked up solid. They're both 350 TBI motors, 260HP and about 2001 models.

Well they may be rusty on the outside, and somewhat inside the cooling passages.
BUT IT SOUNDS GREAT!
Cleaned up the bellhousing mounting surface and mounted up the flywheeel, bellhousing and starter. Cleaned out the fuel system, and put new injectors in it($700 from MERCRUISER :o, but only $140 from AUTOZONE ;D). And she came to life ;). I still have to replace the manifolds, risers and water pump. But it sounds great, starts instantly and revs up real nice.
And yeah, he got ELEPHANT F >:(CKED without vaseline. But now he's hoping he can buy it back after seeing how cheap I got an EFI engine that is the right HP for the ALPHA 1 outdrive.

I seen the engine after it was pulled back in 03, it looked real nice then. The other engine suffered the typical rotten riser demise and sucked water into #8 and the original owner decided to go with newer MPI engines vs the TBI. The guy I got them from stored them outside and only covered the openings on it, so it rusted from sitting. It was flushed with freshwater before being pulled though. He ran into hard times and FINALLY parted with them for $700 for the pair. I figured the fuel injection systems were worth more than that alone(the last one I saw on E-bay sold for $900 for 1 system). If you heard this thing run, you would change your mind about it real quick.

Well here's an update on this project. As was pointed out earlier, she was fairly rusty. So here she is in the cleanup process and in paint.
After wire brushing still wet from the first coat of OSPHO.

After 3 coats of OSPHO to rusted areas, then 2 coats of ZINCROM primer and 3 coats of black engine ENAMEL. Cleaned up pretty nice.

Gret Job Therm. You do all the work yourself ??
Didnt you pick up a V recently ?

Unfortunately I'm doing all the work myself, my back and such aint takin to well to it. I got my V several months back, but it turned into a nightmare. So it got put on the back burner. My other project at the moment I forgot to take pictures of before I started, but I'm repairing the windshield frame in my 95 diesel SUB. It got the ever to common rust due to paint peeling(gotta love GM paint). It was repainted before I bought it, but they didn't do the best of jobs and the paint peeled up underneath the urethane that holds the windshield in. So it rusted underneath and leaked like a sprinkler.
