Gotta decide now, that starborad for the pulpit is 1 1/2 thick. Will the size of te pulpit block the lights??? or should I have a 1 1/2 spacer made for each bow light to sit on. Or mount the lights to the pulpit, but the chain could hit the lights ??

Hammer, how long did it take to get them?
parishht
04-13-2007, 06:29 PM
I don't think you have to worry about lifting the lights.
I belive they just have to be visible from a distance
so that green and red can be determined for
which side an oncoming vessel is to pass.

It's OK if the pulpit blocks the lights. They should only be seen from one side of the boat anyhow.
Looking good Hammer :)

I hate to say it but they look like side lights??
Side lights have a lens that goes from front to back like them, so you can see them from front and side of boat.
Bow lights lens go front to side so you can see front and side while driving.
Side lights here, as you can see you see from front or side light runs front to back

Bow lights, as you seee here they run side to side to see front and rear

Nope...not like REEL'S...but whole time I's readin' thru this I's thinkin' what MJ said about mountin' 'em on the windshield bulkhead ... I think they'd be REELY COOL there 8) 8) ...tell ya what...have Lisa hold one of 'em in place under the windshield, post the pic and we'll vote on it ;) ...power of the board ;D ...
Wire around (forward of it) the hatch opening...I've got several wires goin' around front of mine...just gotta hide/secure 'em ;) ...I think those lights gonna look GREAT up there ;D ...
msbhammer
04-14-2007, 01:17 AM
I would have to mount these on the sides correct. On the short side of the windshield. Port/starboard side.
Hoping I have access on the sides. I'll give it a shot I guess. Dont wanna eat 66 bucks on my stupidity. :-/

Reel, MJ, Hammer and anybody that's got them lights: Is there any problem of reflection at night by the lights distracting or blinding you? I had already made up my mind to mount mine there but was worried it.
macojoe
04-14-2007, 08:05 AM
I am going to mount mine in the same place, as for wires I am going to go all the way around the cabin, use some zip ties to hold.
As for screwing them on, Just drill and screw with some caulking, Not 5200!!
5200 will glue there forever!! Just some light caulk will be fine. You might need to replace at some time?
See you went and out bid me, Now I punish you, and gave you the wrong ones!! ;) ;D

All kidding aside, after seeing how nice it was on the way over to the Bahamas, I would have loved to have taking my V across there. Its about 90 miles and I got 60 gallons at about 2.5 MPG. I could have made it easy, but would feel a alot better knowing if the ship would have stopped if I needed them, Probably not.
Thinks about it, it would only be like goig 45 miles offshore, after that your headed back for land again. ;)
