Theres something about the Chris Craft Scorpion that is a little different than our V-20. I like the look of the Cris Craft its gotta a meaner look. Not as mean as Hammers teeth but pretty mean ;)

They are slightly different, mostly cosmetic and the transom arrangement also. I came back to the ramp one day up here and there was a fellow that was waiting for his buddy to get the truck. He and I compared notes, he liked his Scorpion, his was an I/O and it was an early 80's I believe. Said he used two or three days a week during the season, had bought it new. Original engine and drive with a lot of hours.
I thought it was a V for a long time talking with him. I believe they are the same hull, at least what you can see above the waterline and including the flair.

i remember something about the IO's having issues with the hulls cracking in the keel. the stringers were too far apart for some engines and instead of sitting on the stringers, they sat on some cleats attached to the inside of the stringers. Chapperell made a model very similar to the v-20, without the walk tru windshield, pita to anchor.
RAP is that a current pic. i'm going to the island tomorrow

I have always liked those CC Scorpions, in my searching for one, the only years I could find that looked like that one were 82-85, I think. *Lots of other CC's called Scorpions of all different years, but only a few looking like a V.

Shell Island pic...that was one of SEVERAL showin' off the beauty of that place...was posted 4-5-07, but he makes no reference to when it was taken... ;) ...
Readin' back thru the replys on that thread, one guy makes reference to the "old Chris Craft" (with all the boats pictured, that's the only one commented on...) he says it was for sale for 6 grand at one time... :D ...
