Well, I know how you guys hate a post without pics so I had to wait to get the pictures from my buddy before posting. *Last Friday Old School made her Connecticut splashdown with me and two coworkers tagging along. *The water was fairly choppy outside the Cove so we did not go far. *I forgot my camera (criminal, I know) so I had my buddy take a couple pictures. *It is not much but better than nothing. *Then on Sunday I went out with my youngest son and cruised for an hour or so. *

The Johnson 115 got her up to 35 mph in somewhat choppy seas. *Out in LI Sound the seas were decent (2-3 feet) and we stayed bone dry cruising at 20-25 mph. *She is everything willy said she was.....I could not be happier.

Very nice Whalen!

Thanks for the pics.

I know Willy has peace of mind knowing his ol' girl is in good hands (as do we...).

Enjoy your "new to you" ride.

good job on the launch whalen, felt good didn't it? Where do you put in over on that Conn. side? I may be straight across from you. I don't know if you know my side of town, I am about 5-6 miles west of the Port Jeff. ferry and about 3 miles east of the Long Island lighting co. power plant in Northport. Also , my boat came from Fairfield Conn. and I got it over to my side via the PJ ferry

Phes....boat is in Stonington/Mystic right on the border with Rhode Island. I can be in RI waters in minutes, not to mention NY waters at Fishers Island. Three different fluke regs to contend with!

whalen, your about 65-75 miles east of me. I do some fluking around Fishers with the TinMan.....he's a member here and personal friend who lives out in Southold L.I.[ he hasn't been online in a while] I've gotten some nice fluke out there, no doormats just good 5,6,7 lbers. Have a safe season and good luck w/ the boat....you got a good one ;D

OK....here are some pics from the family splashdown on Saturday. *Our first family excursion started out fine but the marine forecast was off (1-2 foot seas). *Once we got out of the cove the swells were pretty big (3-4) and the kids got a bit freaked out. *We did not get to stay out long. *

Heading away from the dock:

This is the bridge we have to go under to get to LI Sound. *Bimini passes at low tide with about 1.5 feet of clearance. *Bimini comes down at high tide.

Nice post, congratulations and good luck with your V.

I know what you mean about dealing with three State rules on fishing regs. I also fish the LIS and always force myself to obey those stupid rules....

The cow bass are moving in and I'm ready for the annual ritual of bailing the bass at the Race! ;)

C’mon weather man, give us a break here! :(

Oh, great pics btw, thanks for sharing with us.
