ok guys.. im topless.. haha went out on my V for a couple cruises this weekend. one thing i have relized is that a day of fishing is gonna be a serious scorcher. i now am thinking of ideas for tops. hard/ soft plastic covers or not, rod holder/ no rod holders. i want to see if you guy have some input as to what works best and some pictures. im thinking hard top with rod holders and a electronics box. also if you have rough guesses to priceing and suggestions to makers.

thanks

the guy who owned the boat had the top custom made with a full enclosure.
it ran him $4,850.
lotta dough but it offers great protection from the elements.

CTT THAT is a great lookin' boat! The top gives my ideas for the future but $4850 is outa my price range. I need the economy version.

I have a fold able Bimini top, great, put it down when you need put it up when you don't!
Best of both worlds!! And you can get it out the way fast if need be!
Hard tops are nice, but they get in the way of casting and stuff and space is at a premium always!!

I' agree with MJ, Being able to put the bimini down is great! Nothing is worse then trying to pass a rod hand over hand threw the top with a fishing raceing all over the place ::)

thanks splinter, yes we are a pair, arent we.
tuna, you should see her when shes cleaned up.
maco, you are absolutely right. it does take away some fishing space and has gotten in the way on occasion.
last summer i was fluking in the inlet and a nice big bass decided to grab my offering.
i was fishing him off the stern when he decided to run around the bow.
i had my big guy drop the antena and fought him right over the top. good thing i had a 7 foot rod.

yeah, it gets in the way sometimes but i wouldnt have it any other way now.
plus wait'l you see it with the full curtains.

hey hamster you think you're man enough to sport a top like this?

Ditto that. I've even used mine as an emergency sail.

ts im in va beach va. i kind of like the idea of haveing more rod holders and being able to just get them off the deck. but i agree with what the guys are saying about getting in the way.l. i didnt even think about that.

I almost went the hard top way a few times! I like the way they look, I love to have the rod storage!

And yes CTT when you get the enclouser she will be the balls!!

As far as rod holders go I have 6 in the gunnels, 4 on the engin cover, But thats a lot of rods still in the way, so I came uo with this, It golds 5 rods on the out side away from everything.
Never lost a rod or had any issues. If I have the Bimini up it is a pain to get a rod, but not hard.
