I don't think Barry's packin' anything you ol' veteran Cape Codders can't handle...wish we had gotten more rain from that system, but most of it stayed to our east :'( ...

I feel for you, Reel. A rain gauge on the south end of the island recorded nearly 3" for us, and the Savannah airport nearly 5". The problem is, the ground has been so dry it's pretty hard, and they say a lot of it didn't soak in but ran off instead. Still, I'm happy we got what we got. Except we spent a good part of yesterday cleaning up the yard. I did take the PD for a quick spin yesterday, to charge the batteries and pump out the bilge real good. The wind was whipping out there -- as soon as I left the mouth of the harbor I was in whitecaps and the boat was blowing sideways at idle. Even though the sun was out, we were still feeling the west wind on the backside of the system. Mother Nature is awesome!

Hang in there, MJ! Another day and it'll have moved out.

Hang in there MJ, is it "batten" down the hatches, or "batton" down the hatches??? :-/

Depends on whether the hatches are stuck or not.

All and all the storm damaged very little, with minor power outages and just about perfect rainfall. Hope it's as kind to ya'll.

Been having some follow thru storms late in the afternoon. Well this afternoon, got off a little early because of rain and worked a little on the boat(s) over at daddys and about 6:00 wife comes over and tells us "well the powers out and we can't cook supper, ya'll want to go out and eat?", Daddy said "I'll buy". On the way to eat I remembered that we both have gas stoves. :P SMART WOMAN ;D sneaky but smart
