Congrats on yer new "V" ... can you post the link to yours on E Bay? ... ;) ...

The only thing I can think about '78 was a transition year for the "V" ... that was 1st year the put fuel tank in floor, but it was only 42 gals...after that it went to 60 and a self-bailing floor-deck w/scuppers ... 42 gals not AMPLE, but it'll be enough to have LOTS of fun with, particularly if ya got a fuel-sippin' 4-stroke or somethin' ...member here, Randlemanboater just put 40 in his, w/a 140 4-stroke Zuke, so he'll be fine... ;)

Congrats! What has she got for power? Is it an I/O? Is it is it is it? Mine's a 78 as well. 42 gal tank all right, it has been enough for me, but I don't go too far in it...yet.

Just spoke with the seller....its got a 1988 Evinrude 150 and I pick it up on Monday. Any thoughts with regard to performance or input or experiences, good or bad, about that motor?
Thanx for all the responses and any additional feedback or information! I bought this boat to replace my 1986 Chris Craft 17 foot Cavalier for light fishing and casual cruising and watersports with my wife and 2 children (7 and 9). The uphulstery was shot on that boat and the floors were rotting out which are two types of work I was not up to doing. Wanted something more durable with less frills and always liked Wellcraft boats.
