The guy just called he launched the boat and it has almost sunk!!!!

Her is going to call me back?

what'd you get?
macojoe
09-16-2007, 06:17 PM
$3500
I have never had water get in that boat!! Well thur the bottom ;)
Use to have a toliet in the boat and the 2 ball vaules are closed and from the otside i pluged them up so thy never be used again!
So all there is, is the plug. I have used the boat since the Wave and it has never leaked?
the boat had a ton of rain water today and I drained it cause I left the plug in?
But he says they have it at the ramp tied to the dock so it won't sink :o
I hate selling stuff, we should just all throw it away when we are done!!

Did you ask him how steep the ramp was? No boat likes to be launched down a cliff.
macojoe
09-16-2007, 06:38 PM
I just called him again and i have no answer??
I have a full transom so water at launch isn't going to be the problem?
macojoe
09-16-2007, 06:41 PM
We swaped trailers a few weeks ago and the boat sat in the water half hour and never got a dop of water.
I am hoping he did not or the plug fell out? He said it was finger tight he did not put a wrench

hey mac what happened to your boat i heard something happened and you could have sunk what was it and glad your ok now you have to get another steplift
macojoe
09-16-2007, 07:05 PM
OK heres the deal
I showed the guy the boat, I walked him all around, On the transom I have one of the plug holders that holds the plug so you don't lose it.
I said here is your plug you need a 9/16 wrench to put in the bottom.
I forgot to take the plug out and boat was full of water this morning so I knew there was something messed up, cause if it holds water in its going to hold water out!!
He launched the boat and headed out and when he saw water coming up from the floor headed back, they strapped it to the dock to strop from sinking.
Harborer master came and pumped it out enough so they could get on trailer, now its draining!
He said I miss understood you, I thought that was the hole the plug was in and I take it out with a 9/16 wrench!
So he never put the plug in!!! I told him you are not a real boat man till you forgot the plug!
So I guess he is one now, and I am sure he will never make that mistake again!!
My stomach still feels sick now, but I am glad thats all it was! I still hate to sell crap because of this stuff!!

I know the feeling. The lil' Bonita I had for the past 20 years has been sunk TWICE by the woman who bought it last month. Both times I raised and got it running for her. I regret selling it to her. Relatively speaking your buyer is Admiral material.

Poor bastadge, *:o
That was an ideal boat and plenty of website gossip to back it up.
If he can read :-X get him to go thru the website to put his mind at ease.
Being uneducated in todays light is OK by societies standards. ;D

Not one T shirt!! But i did tell him about the site! He not much of a computer guy?? Guess not much of a boater either ;)
The boat did not go to the bottom, but buy what he told me it had a lot more water in it then when the Wave hit!
Was strapet to the dock so ity would not go to the bottom!, Was listed over bad with water at the top of the gunnel!!

MJ - Maybe the guy should moron-proof the plug like I do mine.
I put a wire hook on my wrench with some bright orange survey flagging and hang it on the steering wheel and keep the plug in the cup holder. If I miss that, the wrench pokes me in the nortons when I sit down.
So far it's kept me from becoming a boatman.
I forgot how to post pictures - if I can figure it out again, I'll post one.

Sounds like that guy had never even seen a boat before let alone owned one ::) I guess if he hadn't sunk it he would have eventually ran the motor without muffs and blew the powerhead andyway. :o
Man, that is just crazy!

Congratulations on the sale.
As far as the sinking, that is his fault for not knowing
the rules of boating.
1 - put bilge plug in.
2 - check to make sure bilge plug is in.
3 - Is that bilge plug in?
4 - Bilge plug, where is it?
5 - Honey, look to see if the bilge plug is in.
6 - Muffy and Duffy, do I have the bilge plug in?
7 - If you want to ride in my boat, look if the bilge plug is in.
8 - put boat in water.
9 - I think the bilge plug is in.

Why is it my responsibility? I have no control over this nutjob! >:(
MJ is a very complex person. Who knows why he does many of the things he does.
Alright. I guess I'm confusing complex with sheer stupidity and outright weird. He scares me sometimes. :o ;D

MJ you gave that boat away too cheap, and it's the new owners problem if he's too dumb to put the plug in. I think She was trying to go to the bottom knowing that her service was over. Old boats have souls. ;)

You'll just have to buy it back...tell him you'll give him $5,000 ;D ;D ... then you'll feel better ;D ;D ;D ...

What the sad thing is that all that starboard!
I need to go buy a sheet for a project I want to do on the new boat, I should just call the guy and salvage the starboard before it goes to the dump!!
