BigShrimpin , I read your post on thehulltruth about 2004 V21 . Are they talking about bringing back the fisherman as well as the steplift ?

Only heard rumors about the steplift, but I'll see if I can squeeze some more information out of my source this weekend and get back to you.

The marina where I keep my boat sold Wellcraft for over 20 years . The owner told me that the v20 and the 18' made up over 1/2 of his Wellcraft sales . He gave up the line when the V20 was discontinued . He told me just a month ago that he would take 10 new ones today if he could get them. He said Wellcraft dropped the V20 because the molds had worn out . And that they were not selling enough of them to warrant the cost of building new molds . At least that is his story .

* * That's interesting . . . I always wondered why they took the v-20/v-21 out of production. *
* I sure hope they design a bigger place around the helm for mounting electronics. *

love the v-20. Have fished on my father's since 87. Still catching on it today.
Seems funny wellcraft would discontinue a mold b/c they wore it out. Kind of like throwing out your best lure b/c it's all chewed up. They would do well to start it up again!

I talked to Wellcraft. They are not bringing the V20 back into production. He would not tell me how many they made other than it was a lot.

Yea Labii, quite an accomplishment
Now lets celebrate it with a get together this spring and get some of you guys that have kept quiet on the subject off your duffs and help put this thing together. There is a lot of talent on this board and we could use it to make this happen.
Hey Big Shrimpin got a long handled head thumper with ya, wake some of these guys up will ya. ;)

I talked to my neighbor and said he would make a mold but did not want to pay for the mold. He makes a boat called "southshore". You can go to Yahoo and enter southshore boats to see his website. I don't know how much it would cost to make a mold but he did say it was expensive. I have an extra 73 V20 cuddy cabin I could sacrifice for the cause and I know of a V20 center console that needs transom work thats for sell.

it would have to be freshly re gelcoated if you are going to wax it to pop a mold off it.

You are right Skools, just re-reading it now. Also just imagining a new V23 no wood construction full transom with a 40 gallon live well in it better laid out helm area or better yet an off set helm area with a walk around type of step up on one side to go forward and fish off the bow or anchor or to let a super model lie down and sunbathe yea yea I can see myself there now
Actually that is what Ray Hunt did on a couple of new boats he designed and are in production (limited) today for big bucks.
