Guys and Gals, happy to report there is something in the works that involves a revamp of the site! To that end there may be some downtime, so please be aware the site could be down but hopefully temporarily while we work through the process. This means some of the issues we have been dealing with for a couple of years will be resolved.
More to come on this but I'm excited about what this means for the future of this forum!

Looks like we lost a couple posts here on the transition - to be expected.
I don't know if you guys have gotten a chance to check out the notes on the main page about the site updates. Maybe some of you also rec'd an email from "
[email protected]" regarding the plans for the site.
On that note, I wanted to introduce Dave aka WMPAdmin, Dave is taking over ownership of the site. He is a former V20 owner has history working in the marine industry going way back.
Also, off the main page check out the About link. There's some site history there and also a tribute to MJ.
Around the beginning of 2025 Dave and his team will work to move the existing forum to a more modern forum platform.
I'm thrilled to see the progress that has already been made and can't wait to see what is to come!

You are correct, though it was the ones only on this thread, we decided to let those 3 posts stay behind rather than redo the migration. Nothing else appears to have been lost.
While I will be handling all the technical backend of things and all future upgrades. I still need all of you all and your moderation skills on the forums.
We are working on fixing the bulk email to send out messages to everyone and hope to get them back, in the mean time, if you know anyone please reach out so we can get this forum active again.
In January we will migrate to a new forum software that will work great on mobile phones also and be responsive just like the website is now.
Regarding the website, we are working on getting the brochure section finished and likely add a video section for any of your videos you want displayed be it fishing or boat fixing. You will need to upload it to youtube first and enable the EMBED feature on the video then give us the embed link. That will likely also be January.
We are also working on cleaning up the dead links.
Holidays are getting close and I have some obligations but I wanted to get the site stable, an SSL installed and the email and recaptcha working before I needed to travel.
If anyone knows of other sites or forums that need help, please let me know. I have to see all the hard work over the years disappear and I have the resources to revive them. Just need moderation help :)
Dave

Update on Galleries,
We recognize the galleries from your "pics" in your signature used to be displayed on the main domain. Now it directs to a 404 (not found) page.
We are working on the best way to manage this. The photos are still there.
I highly siggest that when you do upload in the future or if you have the ability now, to give appropriate names to the pictures rather than IMG003.jpg. Rename them before upload to somethign like Wellcract v20 1974 fishalogic and give the description. this will make the images much more SEO friendly for others searching for v20 resources on the internet.
And if anyone knows of a project mid-70s v20, no matter the condition as long as hull is still one piece, I'm interested. Finding this forum has brought back memories and I want another one.
Thanks, still working on things.

SKools! You're in St. Lucia now? Wow, great to hear from you buddy. Not surprised you have a "few" boats in your shop. I've still got Blue Runner. She just turned 30 years old.

Really like the look of the updated site.
I’ve been following along regularly, and thanks to Blue Runner, I’m able to reply - though only very occasionally.
Thank you BR!

FFM welcome to the site! We're excited to have you. I am in North Carolina but mostly fish in South Carolina, mainly an inshore saltwater fisherman targeting flounder, red/black drum, trout, sheepshead etc.
Where are you located and what kind of fishing do you do?

Update!
1. We expect to have the new forum software migration done by the first week of January.
2. the forums will move back to the main domain. we had to split it to get control of the data. we have that now and will re-merge with the new software change.
3. galleries will be restored to their prior place.
We are not great as forum admins but we like fixing things in the backroom, if anyone knows of other forums that need to be buffed out.....let me know.

We are SE of Raleigh. Don***8217;t get to fish nearly as much as we would like, like all of us, with other activities filling the time. When we can fish, it is usually in the salty waters, mostly near shore & inshore here in NC. I feel the draw towards SC also, but not very much knowledge of the area.

FFM, I am in Lexington NC but one of my daughters lives in Raleigh.
The nice thing about fishing in SC is, as you probably know, for the past few years they have rec flounder shut down in NC (except for a couple weeks per year IF they approve it). Not like that in SC - 3 fish per person, 16" length.
Don't get me wrong, I love fishing in NC especially at cape hatteras, but the rec flounder ban has really put a hurting on the fishery in the tarheel state.
Anyhow, good to know we have a new NC member here!
