If it's going to be as bad as they say, then it's gonna be an ugly storm. Y'all from Tampa on up in the Big Bend and the Panhandle be careful and take good care. Heck, as big as this one is forecast to be, everyone in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee take care!

so true,Pipe. I m on the west side of the projected landfall. Hope that holds. Got the generator in place and plugged into power panel, chili in the crock pot, done everything i can do outside.
Good news is it s moving fast, so its a 4-5 hour event for us, gonna slow down one it goes inland.
Doing to do but hunker down now

Stay safe down there. Looks like NC might be spared for the most part. I hope you make out OK Phat, definitely not your first rodeo.

The morning after,All good. Storm actually went little further east than predicted. Lotta rain with this thing.
Got family in Valdosta,Ga. They had the eye go right over them. Third storm in 13 months that took the same path.
And another low forming between Cuba and Yucatán

Glad this one didn’t smack you. I think I recall a few years back, you had some serious damage to deal with.

haven t heard from them in a while, reelapeelin is up that way also
Scook, we had a cat 5 almost 6 years ago oct 10. Still rebuilding
What sucks about this one is the scope of the damage from Florida up to Tennessee. The power grid alone is mind boggling. I know why they do it, speed and expense, but it should be illegal to put in power lines above ground, especially on new construction

Talked vto Vic and Ferm yesterday. Vics house got trashed, water inside the house about 5 feet deep. He had a 9 ft surge in his area. The V and the INV boats were inland, the stumpknocker got squeezed in the boat lift. He was pretty tired when I talked to him. Ferm had a couple trees down and that was about it. I'll call Ozzie today

Wow praying for those guys! As some of you guys may know Asheville NC and the mountains got hammered with flooding. Had my daughter's situation not changed drastically in the last year she would have still been living in Asheville. So I am grateful she was not there for this. Praying for everyone impacted by this storm.

It is. I can't get over the devastation all the way up. We were so lucky hereabouts.

looks like south Florida drew the short straw this time. After getting catching the fuzzy side of Helena fron Naples to Keaton Beach, a direct hit somewhere between Crystal River and Sarasota. Projected cat 3 at landfall with lotta surge on the south side.
That s north of Ferm, but right at Ridge,if i remember correctly. Anyway big mess on top of another big mess.
Ahhh, life in the tropics . . .
