Franco..."Norton Snagger"...recently coined phrase indicating any hardware on a sea-going vessel on which a GUY might "snag his Nortons" or "catch his nertz", as it were...Fillet 1 asked if I had ever caught my "Nortons" on one of my rod-holders(see pics under "2nd try...")...your claw-anchor , temporarily stuck in the rod-holder, would be a first-class "Norton Snagger", if a guy wasn't careful gettin' in and outta the boat... :o :-X :'(
Great boat...sounds like you stay busy gettin' all the goodie outta it... ;D

Sounds good to me! She isn't much to look at right now unfortunately.....needs a bunch of cosmetics....ah, if that were only it. I hopped in her tonight (first time in a few weeks..) and it has been in the upper 40's now...guess what? Solid floor was solid due to deck being solid. The whole damn thing has to come out now....I will assess it in the morning and see if we can squeak by for the season.
Franco, I will shoot you the address via e-mail. Thanks for all the help!

Solid floor due to the floor being frozen rock solid...sorry, not stomaching the thought of tearing her apart really well... :'(

Anytime Craig, by the way, my brother worked for Wellcraft in the 80's, he was production manager. He knows his s**t about fiberglass construction and repair. I'll try to pick his brain about your floor condition

Nah...............MJ likes going topless. :o ;D
No, really.........He doesn't use a Bimini unless really bad conditions warrant using one. Just one more thing for the rods to whack. 8)

I hate to have to say this cause I know there are quite a few people interested in the top, but me and Franco struck a deal and I ended up with the top.
If for some reason it doesn't work out, it'll be back up but I was thinking along the same lines (sort of) as MJ but not for fall Cod - for fall Stripers! And like CB said, the comfort of my passengers, which normally consist of two little girls ages 5 and 7 and the wife, which is age 32 (and today is her birthday! - I hope she likes the boat top I bought for her 8) ;D :-*).

I guess this was a message to me not to buy it??
O well CB looks like another cold fall cod season!!
Good Luck

Congrats on your new aquisition, BR...I was pullin' for you the whole time...always gotta root for the "hometown" crowd...w/ that top and enclosure, youcan chase stripers all winter long...I use a small propane heater in my enclosure on particularly COLD winter days...you gonna luv it... ;D...
Blue_Runner
04-14-2005, 02:58 PM
MJ, I'm sure they'll be another one up. Seems like this wasn't the first one sold on here??
Also, when I'd see one on eBay or boattrader, I had started emailing the owners to see if they'd sell me the enclosure separately. That might be something you could try. If any of them respond or if I see one any where I'll let you know.
RAP - a propane heater will be purchased. I've been wanting one anyway.
I'm ready to get that crack in my boat fixed :-[
I ordered the expoxy and fairing compound that BS told me to get. Also, I was thinking that instead of using a syringe to inject the epoxy into the void between the fiberglass and wood, I am looking into using one of those lower unit oil pump deals. Drill just the right sized hole, screw the pump fitting in and pump away! What'da ya'll think?
Then all I'll need is a new motor :o
I figure I've got enough stuff to sell that I could cover about $4000 towards a new or lightly used motor.
Gotta get some stuff sold first and cure the crack problem!
Franco
04-14-2005, 03:16 PM
BE CAREFUL YOU DON'T DISOLVE THE PUMP INNARDS OF THE PUMP, EPOXY CAN BE CAUSTIC TO SOME PLASTICS!!!
Blue_Runner
04-14-2005, 04:32 PM
I've already planned on discarding the pump when I'm done. Hopefully it won't dissolve whilst in use!! I've had it for a couple of years now and got some good use out of it changing the lower unit oil.
I just hope it works ???
Thanks for the word of caution Franco.
