Choke working?

How do you know I the choke is working?
I use to hear a click when I push in the button on the key but I don't hear it anymore
She still starts but will it start if the choke wasn't working?

Does that car have an actual choke plate on the carb or is it an enriched system?

Anyway should hear solenoid clicking
