I don’t know if you guys can copy and paste this. If you can, FINALLY!!!! It seems to idle around 7-8K. I’m gonna fine tune it and then I’ll tackle the wiring. That should keep me busy for a while. I don’t know if I’m gonna totally rewire the whole boat or just work out the bugs. Not sure if I’m gonna keep it. It’s in really good shape and it would be a perfect candidate for a repower eventually. I really wanted a center console but who knows….. I could run this until it doesn’t run anymore and slap a newer 4 stroke on it in the future. Not sure yet, but I should be in the water soon.

Great news Charlie. It always feels good when you work out a problem and suddenly the whole world seems brighter. As for a center console, I know everyone has their opinion(s) but the cuddy just seems right for me. I can anchor up and go to sleep overnight in mine if I want, my wife and daughter can change into bathing suits if they desire and lets not forget the privacy afforded when using the porta potty. And last but not least, you can lock all your electronics, etc. in there while you trailer to the water or to home. Especially important if you stop for gas or coffee or lunch. Those things can disappear in a second.

Agree with all of that, and it offers more protection if you're out in the weather.

But congrats, Charlie!

Link did not work. Happy for you Charlie, the test will be putting her in the water. Have a paddle just in case tho! You may never stop smiling when she takes off.

If you’re at all concerned, you might want to join BoatUS, and include towing in your membership. When mine was giving me overheating trouble, it saved me quite a bit of money getting a few tows.

100% agree. Get it with the trailer option. $145 a year and well worth it. ONE tow can equal several hundred dollars, so it's cheap insurance.

yeah, i've looked into this. i believe seatow has more coverage in my boating area. my dad had boat us years ago and he used them a few times per year. can't buy better insurance. it's high on my list.
i'm gonna put it in a tub this weekend and see what happens. i think/hope it was just a question of a hose that couldn't provide the needed flow. i'll keep you guys posted. also, gonna clean/rebuild the carb on the kicker and hopefully get it running as well.
