HI, MY NAME IS VIC. I HAVE A 1970 V20 IN MY BACK YARD. I WANT TO SELL IT. IT HAS A MID 80'S 175 OR 200 JOHNSON. THE BOAT LOOKS SOUND AND THE FLOOR IS NOT SOFT. THE TRANSOM IS STRONG,NO CRACKS. I WAS GOING TO PUT IT ON EBAY BUT THEN I FOUND THIS SITE. YOU GUYS HAVE SOME AWESOME LOOKING BOATS. THE MOTOR RUNS AND HAS GOOD EVEN COMPRESSION. IT IS A LONG SHAFT MOTOR MOUNTED ON A JACK PLATE.I THINK THE BOAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A REGULAR SHAFT MOTOR. I COULD SEND PICTURES IF SOMEONE WANTS TO BUY IT. I THINK I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET 2000 DOLLARS FOR IT.ANY INTEREST???? .

Welcome to the site!!

Send some pic's to me, [email protected] and I will post here for you.

Does the boat have a title?? This is very important!! What about the trailer?? Does it have one and if so hows it look?? Will it at least get someone home??

Do you have any idea when the last time it was started or in the water?? How long has it been sitting?? Was it covered the whole time or out in the weather??

Sorry for all the questions but these and alot others will be asked of you any way.

Later!

The boat has a tranferrable registration. There is no trailer, the motor was witerized. I started it breifly yesterday, it probably needs a good going over. The boat and motor have been sitting for three years under a tarp. I'll send you pictures. I'm looking to get the boat out of my yard quickly. I was considering listing it on ebay for sale.

Thats a Jack plate to rasie the motor. It has a 25 inch shaft on a boat that requries a 20" shaft.
So they added the jack plate to rasie the hight of the motor.

MJ,
I'm looking at motors for mine which has the 20" transom and seriously considering this jack plate thing. Either that or getting a special steel or aluminum bracket welded up in order to put it at 25". I just think that in heavy seas, there's a lot less chance of the motor getting swamped that way - right?
