How can I tell how old my batterys are? One has a sticker D9 and the other one has E 6 on it.

Just a guess, but either April 09 or 19 and May 06 or 16. I can t believe you got 11 years and 14 years out of a battery, so i d go with one is a year old and the other is 4 years old.

Phat,I think your right,I did buy one last year and the other one is probably about 4 years old and on top there are no holes taken off the stickers ,maybe I should have done that when I bought it.

Several years ago the battery manufacturers went to the letter/year sticker instead of the punch out sticker or melting the date code into the casing.

So what would D9 mean?

A through L is the month A is January B Is February, etc.
So D is April and 9 is the year either 2009 or 2019

Most of my batteries these days have the actual date on a round orange sticker.

Years ago I put an Interstate battery in my old green truck, the thing lasted 14 years! It had the month and year punched out on top and a 5 year warranty.

When it finally went bad I thought about taking it back for for the warranty but figured I would destroy any good luck with batteries if I did.
