so i'll be bringing my boys down in mid to late july for a week or two for some rod bending. what I didn't consider is this is the worst time of year for surf/inlet/pier fishing. we'll be staying in delray and maybe spend a few days on a driftboat/partyboat. any recommendations? I understand there are snook and trout in the Sanibel area. i'm not looking for pompano. I want something that will bend the rods a bit. I don't care if I have to put them on little reef sharks. any party boats you guys recommend? surf fishing? I just want my boys to have fun and catch fish. I don't care about table fare. it would be a bonus but not essential.

Southwest Florida is still trying to recover from all the red tide last year, and the huge fish kill the year before. I would stick to the southeast. Or go to the north to the intercoastal inlets and fish them.

Fish City Pride is the drift boat out of Hillsboro. I think there might be a new one too..
