I can't find those baring buddy protectors that are see thru plastic, only the stainless steel ones.do you know who has them? Thanks let me know

Unless I'm mistaken. the clear plastic (Lucite) ones are for use in oil bath bearing installations, not grease. Look for that type and I think you'll find what you want.

Do you want clear so you can see if water has gotten in? It makes mayonnaise in oil but does it do that with grease?

The idea behind the oil bath protectors being clear is so that you can see when you are low on oil. Since there is no spring pressure plate showing you when you are low on lube (like with the grease types) you need a different way to know if you are low or out of oil.

These bearing buddy's were all plastic and have a grease fitting in the center,they are the same as the metal ones only in plastic

Thanks D - I remember servicing our trucks after amphibious landings and finding mayonnaise in the differentials. If there’s no positive pressure in the oil bath bearing buddies, I’d think that could be a problem. Funny the things you remember from eons ago.
