Took a little ride out but found the ledge dead .....at least it was yesterday.
Saw boats on their way ....another 20 miles from what I hear but despite the calm seas I didn’t.
No marks or surface action out and back so I fished inshore.
Slowwwwww fishing to pick one keeper fluke and a few nice Ling.
Maybe 6 or so throw back shorties .

it was a V20 weather day for sure, You should have kept going.
There were bluefin at Resor wreck and Atlantic Princess. I boated a 40" bluefin there on a 8 oz diamond jig and lost a 50 pounder also. Also got a giant sting ray to the boat and got my jig back with a release. I saw some 70# bluefins being caught. A lot of guys breaking rods that are not meant for 70-100 pound tuna.
Mahi are moving in and it will be worth a try at the pots in the mud hole and Glory.

I don't have the V20 anymore but I used to run it to Chicken canyon 60 miles each way. The trip always burned 41 gallons with the Suzuki DF140 so I didn't need extra. When we first started do it, we brought extra and sometimes we would take it in case we went out to the Texas Tower.
The Monster Ledge is the east side of the Mud Hole about 23? out of Manasquan. Never took extra for that. We had a big Thresher there on the V20. The pot markers there will start holding mahi right into October
