98 evinrude 200 vindicator

Hey guys
I have a chance to get two of the above engines one with a bad #1 cylinder and and “nothing else” wrong. Don’t really believe that but a parts motor. The other is running. Guy want 2500 for both. Working on getting the hours and service history.

I’ve been looking and they are non Fitch from what I can find.

You guys have an opinion on this models history etc?

If it's the carb engines there's not much to say other than good running thirsty 2 smokes. They like gas, oil, are noisy, and will run and run and run if you treat them right and take care of them.
