so my now 20 year old is driving the car I bought from my father in law, to get to work and school. (he has beaten the sh!t out of this thing but that's another story). a little back story. my father in law, like the rest of us lost his car in THE STORM!!! so he went out and bought a brand new 2012 chevy impala. oh, how I wish he bought a camry or an accord. so anyway he put about 2,000 miles on it and got sick and died. before he went we bought it from him. my wife did, because I would have chewed him down to nothing. still got a great deal! anyway, my kid got his license and started going to the local community college so he needed a car. we gave him this one. when he got his license my insurance went through the roof so I sold the Yukon. now, I cant afford another car and my 16 year old will be driving very soon and I have to get a ride to and from the train station every day. it's less than a half mile so it's not a big deal. so my wife and I talked about me getting a scooter. yes, I said 'scooter'. so I did some research and zeroed in on this one. very uncommon in my area but mid atlantic states and new England, they seem to be very popular. so I found one in new Hampshire, a 5 hour drive. I wont go into the long version but after some intense negotiations I got the guy down to $2,150. brand new, sticker is $2,699. and after all the plus, plus, plus, plus, it was close to $4,000. the one we got is a 2018 with 500 miles on it. just broken in. these get well over 30K or more. the insurance will cost less than $10. a month and they get over 100 miles to the gallon so i'll basically fill the tank 4 times a year. I can ride it 10 months out of the year and when my little guy gets his license in feb, he can use it too. i'm gonna put a milk crate on the back with a couple rod holders and he'll be able to zip around with his gear and fish where ever he wants. I know i'm going to look absolutely ridiculous on this thing but to get to and from the station, i'm OK with that. plus I can park it in the train yard so theft wont be an issue. anyway, this is what it looks like but I got all black. video below.

Or you could say you look smart getting where you need to be, burning almost no fuel, wind in your face and bugs on your teeth from smiling:sun::clap:

Interesting. Honda Ruckus. 49CC engine. Centrifugal clutch. About a 100 miles per gallon. Basically it's a modern version of the old Mini Bikes we used to ride back in the 60's and 70's, but with the added features of lights etc to make them street legal. Not bad Charlie, not bad. Just BE CAREFUL!! you are a small object on the road and there are a lot of careless drivers out there. Good luck with it. Looking at it I might be inclined to get one since there is a huge state land preserve not far from me where I could ride one off the streets. Was thinking about getting a quad, this looks more fun. :head:

Good choice, reliable and hold their value. I was a little afraid when I got to "scooter" in your post. I thought u bought a junk one from china. Be careful. Learn to watch cars wheels while they r at stop signs. That's the easiest to tell when they r going to pull out and run u over.
