Cuddy 60 gallon tank fuel sender

Does anyone know what length fuel sender I need for a 82 v20 cuddy with the 60 gallon aluminum tank? I'd pull the old sender and measure it but the previous owner has put 5 different types of bolts in to hold the sender and they look like they are going to snap off into the tank. I'm still using the boat. I will be replacing it with the type shown in the picture. All my boats have this type of7420 sender and I've never had one go out yet.

You can"attach" a jpg file using the "Paperclip">Manage Attachments> Choose file from your computer. Very large files (>1 MB) will give an error.

I m seeing the sender, but cant help on the length.

There should be a post in the links section with the tank dimensions. You can get the depth from that

The sender I'm wanting to install is a straight tube with a float that rides the tube up and down.

Like Phatdaddy I can see the float sender that you want to install, but I have no idea unfortunately on the length. I like that type of sender.. simple, pretty accurate, reliable.

I installed one in my boat but cannot remember what the length was. The aluminum original tank is 11.5 inches at it's deepest point(which is where the sender is installed). I believe I bought the 11" length but wouldn't swear on it. Whatever length I did use, the gauge was pretty accurate.

Edit: I did find the receipt and it was in fact the 11" model I installed. Worked perfectly. Check the links section . I just uploaded the tank specs for you to look at. Hope this helped.

Don't be surprised if you have to bend the sender rod and adjust the bulb height till it's correct.

Tough to get fuel gauge to read just right - as sending unit is adjusted......such as showing 1/2 when really 30 gallons remaining.

You can work on it when you re fill......see what the gauge showed, vs # of gallons it took to refill. If it's close enough, then you're fine. Worst thing would be if it's set up wrong, you're showing 1/4 tank, or such, and you're actually run out of fuel ...... I've installed a few, the adjusting part is the key.

That is for the old type floating arm. The type he is putting in is the straight arm that the float slides up and down on. No adjustments necessary or possible even if you wanted to. I installed one in my boat and it worked perfectly.

just a reminder... its a belly tank with a V shaped bottom. It will never read accurately because the bottom third of the tank holds less than the the top.
