Nothing like an enclosure to make you laugh at the elements. Dry, warm beats wet, cold any day.

D - especially since it was near dead calm on the ocean.
 Heavy rain....no issue
Fog............. except for other boats, not too bad.

When the fog came back in later in the day, that was enough, and rode back in at 2,000 rpm.
Bad enough the danger of other boats, also to get into the inlet carefully to avoid the two jetties.
Surprisingly, a lot of boats stayed out hunting for stripers.....even with darkness closing in soon.
Last year, same area a big center console hit a drifting fishing boat, outcome not good.
 Better safe than sorry.

Totally agree. Solution = Radar. Love my old Raymarine Pathfinder. Ain't the bestest, most modern one in the world, but it works and fog isn't as much of an issue. Still scares the crap outta me when I'm in it but at least I know I won't run into any Jetties.:head:

Without having a hard top, is radar viable ?
I have Bimini with side curtains

Arch just has to be high enough to clear the bimini top.
