A guy came by the other day with a complete alpha gimble he wanted to get rid of, he had parted out his boat. After taking a quick look at it I bought it. It looks to be an Alpha gen 2 housing with the trim cylinders , trim pump and inside mounting plate. Its in really good shape, joints are tight and very little corrosion. Im wondering if I can use any parts off of it for my 77 Alpha such as the cylinders or let it go for what I have in it. I already have a complete spare gimble so I really don't need it if anybodys interested.

not much on a gen II swap with a gen1, good parts none the less, I dont have a need, but if I did, it would be worth a fair amount

The trim cylinders look new, do you think the would replace my alpha one cylinders?

Pretty sure the trim cylinders atatch differently, and they didn't interchange.

don't start swapping gen 1 and gen II stuff, you'll break the bell housing. The gen II cylinders have more travel than the gen 1 and attach differently
