Anybody ever run the NJICW south of Barnegat Inlet?
I've never been south of BI. Any channel to avoid or prefer?:head:
Heading out at sunrise for Beach Haven. Some friends staying there. Going to drag the kids around on tube & kneeboard. Got a slip for Monday night.
I'm hoping the outside settles down enough tonight to make it possible. I hate the thought of Pt Pleasant Canal to BI on the inside....40 miles.

this is my territory the intercostal is very well marked and its a nice ride... just fyi south of the bridge theres a lot of slow no wake zones but its nice just looking at the houses and seeing how the better half live...

Had a great trip! Went outside down to Barnegat Inlet. Inlet full of floating wads of eel grass...multiple temp alarms to clear the grass. We tried a shortcut thru Double Creek Channel...its no channel....had to float over a few bars. Stuck with the markers after that...
Docked overnight at Beach Haven Yacht Club Marina.
$25 overnight. 2 blocks from the house we stayed at.
Gas was 40 cents cheaper than the cheapest in near me and 75 cents cheaper than Barnegat Inlet. Dunno how they do that...
Kids had a blast on the tube & kneeboard. :sun: Getting out there into Little Egg Harbor wasn't so easy. Chart shows 20ft of water where there was 2 ft. Saw multiple other boats running shallow too so it wasn't just me.:nut:
Finally found a big oval of 8ft water and we had it all to ourselves for tubing.
