I'm addicted to 5200.

5200, but it takes a week to cure properly.
If you don't have time, use 5200 fast cure. Buy only the amount you are going to use because I have found that, once opened, 5200 fast cure will harden in the tube before you ever get to use it again.

I normally use 5200 and 4200 as well , I was just wondering if anything was equivilant or better ,and cheaper of course! and as far as keeping the tube workable I always un screw the top tube , clean it out and seal the cartridge well . ive been using the same tube for about two weeks now. I realize its only 2 weeks , don't tkow if it will keep long term

another problem I have found with 5200 is contact with fresh (not wet but fresh) bottom paint prevents 5200 from curing properly...stays gooey...

Thanks guys, skunk that's really good to know ,I'm bottom painting today actually .i ordered extra long through hull fittings last week and I just got them and they were only 2" long so they are sending me the correct fittings and I'll hold off on painting that area of the transome till after I install them! I'm sure the same thing may apply if I go with life caulk

Who did you order the bronze fittings from?
Might be good to know. I mainly order stainless steel fittings from GEMLUX.

These particular fitting I ordered from Busters marine, they are close by me in Queens ny, figured the shipping would be faster but now I'm waiting on the proper fittings to get here!
