I bought a 72 wellcraft that im restoring and it has a 1979 johnson 100hp hydro electric drive that has hydralic tilt. The previous owner tryed to rig up evinrude controls and said they could never get it in nuetral.
Can someone direct me to a website that sells the correct shifter and tilt controls? Ty in advance.
Ronnie.

If you have a hydro electric shift lower unit, it's alot older than 79. As to parts for them, they are LONG gone. Your only hope is a salvage yard or find a parts engine. I've had the misfortune of dealing with a 68 I think it was 70hp with that electric shift. That thing scared the crap out of me. Shifting on it's own when it felt like, not shifting when I wanted it to. I put that boat back on the trailer, took it back to it's owner, and refused to work on it anymore.

I'm pretty sure I have a side mounted shifter for one of those engines. IIt's at my other house so will have to look tomorrow. I have no idea of the length of the cables or any info about it at this time. Just I know it says Johnson Electroshift or some such thing on it. I'll let you know more tomorrow.

Sold a 50 horse one of those with controls for 50 bucks a few months ago.
This whole purging thing is quite liberating.
