Yea. Unfortunately I'm working every day for the next 2 weeks straight. If I could get a good assessment of the boat I'll see about sending the guy a deposit to hold it or something. Guess I'll see how it plays out. He said she's solid other than a spot on front of the helm chair. Probably the chair mounting bolts being the culprit. If the transom is solid I'd buy it in a heartbeat. He said the paint is chipping off at the water line. I guess they didn't prep it properly. But cosmetics don't worry me.
A couple years ago I sold an Aquasport boat to a guy in Wilmington and actually delivered it on my way to our Myrlte Beach annual vacation, so I'm trying to get a hold of him through another forum that he runs for those boats to see if he will help me out. He was a nice older gent with a ton of knowledge about boats so he'd definitely tell me what she's worth.

Some clean up and light sanding around the waterline with a decent bottom job and that will be a nice looking boat.
You got the sickness Squids, lol.

Thanks for texting me the pics. Not really what I'm looking for. I wish you had it before I cut up the cuddy I got because she was a V8 boat and that really doesn't matter to me as I'm bolting a bracket on. Put it for sale here and I'll attach the pics you sent me. I'm sure if you put it on Craig's someone will scoop her up. Looks like a nice project.

You ain't lying. These hulls are just too perfect not to like.
Good news is my buddy in Wilmington is willing to go check her out for me. I'm just waiting to hear back from the owner to see if he will hold it for me if I send him a deposit. Hell my buddy would probably tow it to his place for storage if I really needed it. Hopefully the inside looks as good as the exterior. He told me he doesn't have any interior pics and scared as to why he won't just run out and snap some. Guess we will see.

Well guys looks like this may be my ride this summer. Waiting to hear back from the owner but my buddy went and checked it out and was surprisingly pleased. He couldn't believe how clean and solid the inside is. Transom seemed solid to him. He said it's pretty much a ready to go boat without a motor. If I had a Yamaha I wouldn't even need to rig it. Said the paint is actually a beautiful color but is chipping around the waterline. Seems it wasn't prepped correctly. Said I could possibly use a vinyl material "boot stripe".
Hopefully I'll hear back from the owner and tomorrow and get something going. Ready to be on the water!!

Yep that'll be three sitting in the yard haha. But that will be reduced to 2. I'll be perfectly content with a cuddy and a center console. I got a quote to fix my green boat correctly and was hit with a guatenteed minimum of $2200. ill put details on his procedure in that thread but just know I'm having a hard time justifying it. I didn't pay that for the boat!! Which I understand it's a boat so that's normal I just am having a hard time swallowing that since it should of never happened.

Slight delay. I'm supposed to be half way down to Wilmington by now (Sat 0700) but last night while greasing up my ball joints and all on the truck (F-250 SD) I ran into a couple snags.
(1) My center driveshaft support bearing was nearly non existant. All of the rubber was rotted away and the bearing was just kinda chilling there. It appears the PO knew it was going bad and used metal ties to "center" the bearing. I went and grabbed one and not only did the fine folks at advance give me the wrong part but while taking apart realized all 3 U-joints are trashed. By then it was too late to get back to the parts store.
(2) I kept greasing things up only to find out I have multiple tie rod ends that were dry and one is especially wore. I've noticed a clunking sound in my front end and now see that the track bar bushings are pretty much gone. Think I found my problem.
I know I've been driving like this with no issues but I use this truck for work and am normally less than 30 min from home. My luck I'd be in the sticks of NC and something would break.
So I'm gonna get the parts and get these things fixed this morning but will need to swing in and get an alignment. Problem is that I have to be in Wilmington no later than 4 because apparently in the fine state of NC you have to get the titles notarized with both parties present. I don't think I'll make it in time today and of course there's nowhere tomorrow that can do it. And of course next weekend my work schedule is full so unless I can pull of a miracle and be done by Friday looks like it may be a couple more weeks. So frustrating and I feel I'm holding him up as well. He took the ad down for me but I'm going to tell him if he sells it then it just wasn't meant to be.

Damn Squids... that really sucks. This is one of those times when I would suggest U-haul or Enterprise or some other rental firm. Two options either rent a small cheap car to get there and back today so you can pay him and get the title done or rent a truck and do the same thing and just go get the boat. Either way you show the seller you really are sincere and you get title to the boat into your possession. In the case of the first option (rent a small car) just call and explain your situation to the seller and ask him (the seller) if it's okay to leave the boat there for a week or so until you can get your truck up and running.

Good news. Truck is all back together and better than ever and we've set up a time in the AM to meet a mobile notary. As long as she's not a rotted out piece of mush she should be home early afternoon. Well gotta get to bed, heading out at 0400.
