Ok...I have searched and read many threads but still dont understand how this works.
(Picked up the boat last week and put it to bed for the winter - 9* F today...brrr)
I see the pump and a hose that appears would drain the livewell...but how do you get water IN to the livewell?
Just dump a few buckets in?
Thx, Bill

Not a live well, but a fish box. Not the best plan by wellcraft. Pump is for draining the "fish water" overboard and not through the bilge.

I used to have that setup and I did use a bucket to fill when using it for a livewell.
I since stared using a cooler as a livewell when needed.
Early on I made the mistake of using that space as a fishbox when striper fishing.
When I drained the box, the large scales of the stripers blocked up the drain pipe that runs under the fuel tank compartment...friggin' disaster!
I use that space for storage now (4 gallon buckets with lids). Also, I cut the bottom out and I have a 2nd bilge pump in there

Use mine as storage as well. Removed the pump, keep the second anchor and rode in there, two fenders, 5 gallon bucket in case that same **** happens to me that happened to MJ.

Two batteries forward, spare prop, tool kit, spare parts, outdated flares in mine..

So I am actually sitting here right now thinking about bringing my livewell on my 20CC back to life searching pumps and then i read the previous posts. Haven't needed it but having a working baitwell is a nice bonus. I usually keep the minies and grass shrimp in a small cooler and have an aeroated 5 gallon bucket lid for the peanut bunker. The only thing I would use it for would be bunker and small blues for shark fishing. But would it be worth using and having to clean it for the half dozen times, IDK... I think you guys just saved me $50 and I'll probably just keep it as storage/cooler. Come to think of it I don't think I lifted the lid on that hatch more than once last season.
You guys rock

On my 77 V-20 center console there is a triangular shaped in deck 'livewell' up front that has the same type of drain hole as shown in the upper left corner of your picture. Mine uses the same type of rubber plug to stop the water from draining out.
Where I'm going with this is that I have no plumbing going from the hole in my 'livewell' and you can feel the plywood underneath the fiberglass if you stick your finger in there. I've got soft plywood on the bottom of my 'livewell' because the exposed plywood in that hole was never sealed with resin or anything else. Your drain hole looks exactly like mine - you might want to check that out and seal the exposed plywood if it needs it.

On the CC the livewell is behind the seat posts but infront of the hatch to get to the bildge

dunno about the CC but having cut the bottom out of the fishbox on my cuddy, I can tell you that it is not plywood, it is insulation foam sandwiched between glass.

i know this is a little off topic, but this is what i did for a live well.

this is how i feed it. pvc "scoop" forces water flow when moving. turn pump on when sitting still

the black 1.5 hose at the top of second picture is the overflow from tank, dumps excess over transom
