I have an '86 StepV. Same model though mine has a 225 johnson. I bought it last year on Ebay for $4400. It was a great decision. We used it at least once a week from May through October. We have 4 small kids that got to go fishing, tubing and when the copy weren't around, would drive the boat. Money is tight in our house, but we sure have enjoyed it.

I emailed the guy about that boat on eBay back on October 20th. I wanted to know what he paid for the top. Here is what he emailed back:

TOP DONE BY MARINE FABRICATORS,THERE ARE 3 MORE CURTAINS FOR BACK TO MAKE IT
FULL ENCLOSER,COST WAS 4,850.00 NEW JAN 2005

$7000 sounds pretty good considering the cost of the top. What do ya'll think?? ??? Email him an offer for $5500 fishmaster ;D My 1994 V-21 was listed for $9000 but I ended up getting it for $6500 ;D But then I repowered it, and I also still have the other motor that I took off which I need to sell. When that I/O goes out, it'll be BRACKET TIME.

What's the status on this purchase? Fishmaster, if I didn't have mine and was in the market, I'd be all over that.

I'd get all the detailed photos I could from the seller and a long talk with him and if it's still thee boat, make a offer contingent on test and inspection.

No bottom paint, decent dual axle trailer, 260hp, and that top is the absolute cat's a$$! :D

Don't wait for someone else to buy it. :'(
I'm sure 6,000 (start at 5,500 like BR said) would have it in your driveway. A lot less than the minivan and a whole lot more fun.

Actually I'm a little suprised that the top speed is 42 with the 260 hp. I know guys are getting 42 out of the merc 470 (165-170 hp). Not that it's necessary to go faster, just suprised.

wiseguy, i am in the process of arranging transport for the boat... it is indeed, the cats ***, and yes, a crapload cheaper than the van.

by the way guys... i might consider thinking about pondering the possibility of maybe perhaps possibly considering the sale of the hardtop and enclosure. of course im still ironing out the sale and transport of the vessel but im not really crazy about hardtops.

hey anybody see my jets on sunday? looks like we might get first pick in the draft... WE SUCK!!!

Hey that's great - hope all goes well. What do you have to do to transport it? Can't you just hook it up and drive away?

Keep me in mind on the top.

Congrats again
