I have a 98 200 Johnson. I cleaned and rebuilt the carbs and set the low speed needles at the baseline, I believe 5 1/2 turns but not sure right now, but it was according to the manual. The boat runs fine at WOT and part throttle but off the line the boat will stall if I get into it too fast. I'm thinking that I need to go out a little on the low speed needle, but the idle is perfect right now. I was running really late yesterday at the dock so i wasn't able to read the plugs.

I can go check my manual later, but I believe they should br 3 or turns out for baseline. Sounds l8ke you've run them out to far leaning it out as I believe they control the air, not 5he fuel, so you screw them in to richen themixture(not sure on that, would need to go check my manual to confirm that).

I have a clymer manual and a seloc but no factory. I'll double check it again. It's a J200TXECM

Just double checked the seloc manual and it says 5 turns for 96-01. I was thinking it might not be getting enough fuel since after it warms for a few min I can get it going.
