They've been caught upwards of 600lbs out of DESTIN. Your allowed 1 per person per day because of there mortality rate. They live predominately in deep waters and are almost certain to die if released after being pulled from the depths.

It's a WARSAW GROUPER, AKA a BLACK ***FISH. They are not like a regular ***FISH as far as regs go. They are MUCH harder to catch and find.

Some of the divers around here are NUCKING FUTS!!! I know of several that have done bounce dives to almost 300 on NITROX, not tri-mix. They'll do just about anything to win the spearfishing tournaments around here.

Those fish might be able to go that deep, but no diver. There's a world record in free diving, thought "maybe" 200 feet., but 425, I cant believe that. Ther's a small handful of divers that dove the Lustitania and thats at 450 ft and all the divers dove on tri-mix, deco was time up up was well over an hour. The deeper you go, the air you breath becomes intoxicating. DIvers pass out and drown, forget where they left there reserve tanks and see strange things. Breathing with mixed gas's takes the edge off and you more clear headed. Thats hardcore
wreck diving, I think I hit 126 or 130ft diving the city of Athens off of Jersey. My goal now is to stay shallow, but the shallow wrecks in the area are all low viz and are traps for divers with all the fishing line or dragger nets you swim into. I once dove the China Wreck and was tangled in line on the bottom. Fishing line pulled off my mask and one fin. It took most of my dive to cut myself out.

Never said they was bright. But I've talked to divers who would do it.
