Guys , I'm replacing the transom (done) now on to stringers . In demoing them I notice there is a gap between the core and the hull . They are not glued down in any way . I've been reading as much as I can find on this subject but so far the only thing I've been able to find on this site is that most of you guys feel the core should be bonded to the bottom . If any of you have replaced your stringers I'd like to hear how you did it and if you are happy with the results ..Like have you noticed any spider cracks in the hull done either way .

The boat is a 1976 V20 . Its a cuddy but i'm thinking about converting it to a center console . The cap is off and not in very good shape ,

Stringers should be bedded and tabbed to the hull and transom.

bond to bottom with filler/adhesive made from whatever resin you are using to do the glassing...no gaps

its a 76, don't worry about spider cracks
