I did some work on the V I finally installed a weather proof plug permanently, I am tried of tripping over the open hatch which also allows debris and critters in during the night.  
I have an on board auto 10/10 AMP charger installed below the hatch cover. I keep my batteries charged during the cool nights here in Fl, Auto off during the day, Timer switch on the house wall.

Hole right through the stringer ouch, I will seal the wood with some resin, wood looks awesome nice and dry!
