4.3L Hole Portside above Oil Sending unit

what is the hole on the portside of the block above the oil pressure sending unit? Looks like there should be some sort of screw plug maybe?

That's where the bell crank pivot ball threads in for the clutch linkage in an old automotive application...... Not an issue in a boat.
