Just bought my Step V 20. Had it surveyed and only issue was high moisture reading on 2 x 2 area in front of windshield. Surveyor said this is an easy fix. Anyone ever done this before? Any advice would be greatly appreciated:oh:

welcome to the site, a few on here have addressed this issue. do you still have the llama skin on the underside of the cabin? if all you have is a high reading and no soft spots, i'd probably just keep any eye on it. i've had a soft spot on mine for 20 years so far.
i'm sure brighter minds will come along

X2. Unless you plan on walking on the front deck constantly I wouldn't really worry about it. Plus you just said it has a high moisture reading, not if it's soft or not. If it's still strong just try and find where the water is getting in and seal it. As Phatdaddy said, if could just be the carpet is wet....So dry it out, and seal where the water is getting in.

Mine was sagging and bounced like a trampoline. Re cored the whole thing, big pain in the ***. If its not too bad I'd leave it. If I were to do my V over again I might not be so sentimental and find another hull in better shape. Spent a lot of money nobody will ever see.
As previously stated...not sure the return on investment will be worth it. will boat be kept in salt water? another issue to think about
