Fuel tank sending unit seal - fixed

Air pressure test revealed fuel odor associated with less than perfect seal.

Now with new gasket and screws, filled at gas station to full, and no more odor.

Sending unit threading and related delicate ....... should be more robust to ensure seal.

Thanks to Destroyer for feedback. No need to cut now........fortunately.

I JUST went throught the same thing. Although I wasn't getting any fumes, I just wanted to replace it b/c didn't trust that old seal. Delicate - YES - I had one thread that was iffy. Thought about putting a slightly oversized SS bolt in there but think it is tight as is. Tell me more about your encounter.......

Surprisingly delicate assembly, that's all I have to say about sending unit fittings.
