stripping anti foul paint with?

Is there a chemical that works good for stripping anti foul paint? The person I bought the boat from used sandpaper and got most of it off but I'm reluctant to continue sanding I don't want to get into the gel coat I'd prefer chemical stripping at this point but don't want to damage the gel coat. Any suggestions or is any paint stripper okay? Thanks

I would get the bottom soda blasted, then just put a new coat of good bottom paint and be done! thats if your going to keep it on a trailer?

Just go to finer and finer sand paper as you start seeing hull color.... You're gonna have to sand out the scratches anyhow.... An orbital sander is your friend..... Personally I'm just gonna try to just rough mine up and recoat w bottom paint in white.... IF it will cover the black that is

I used peel away on the transom of my boat. One application took off about half of the paint. I still have to do another coat. I'm not sure how well it's going to work yet.

Just to follow up for anybodies reference. I got the boat off the trailer and myself and son spent about 6 hours on our backs with two small orbitals and some 50-80 paper. Very easy to go too far on the edges of the chimes had to be cool with that. Even with that grit paper it wasn't nearly as rough as you would think. I did two coats of this paint

It worked very well with those round edges on the rollers to avoid heavy areas or streaks. I did prep the entire hull with Acetone first and did thin out the paint about %5-10 which did help it flow a bit better. The finish was awesome. After a week went by I did another coat and it glossed up real nice. No sine of any sanding marks at all. Don't be afraid to use 50-80 grit. Here's before and after pics. Time will tell on the durability but taking a very very small screwdriver with some force did not scratch it unless I pushed pretty darn hard. About like the gel coat more or less.

That looks awesome. I hate the look of bottom paint. My new V-20 has a Virginia bottom but I usually keep my boat in the water for the summer months in a covered slip at a marina my mom manages so I may have to put a coat on the V. Hate to do it but with 3 small kids it's much easier to go to the marina and just go. This stuff may be the ticket. Doesn't look so much like bottom paint.
