Nice looking boat but $5,500 seems tops for a boat and motor that is 20 years old even if pristine. Am I just out of touch? I hope someday to own a 20 but it does not seem possible at these prices.

Good luck on your sale.

Still seems about $3,000 too much. Just returned from Charleston and the salt boys down there say for $8K (especially since I have the cash) I can get newer and better. Maybe I should abandon the my hopes of a V. Just out of my price range.

maybe newer, not sure about better

that's a relative term, like fat, rich, or bald

I'm rich and bald but not fat. Looking at a 2001 Key West 17ft CC with 90 Merc. Smaller but @ $6,000 (probably negotiable) is more my speed. Good luck on your sale.

A 17 key west isn't half the boat a V-20 is IMHO...regardless of the price.

Big G, if you dont like Daydreamers price then make him a cash offer...this is the for sale section, not the beat up a guy about his boat you've never seen section.

Randlemanboater;

Sometimes the written word conveys an attitude other than what is intended. For that I apologize. I assure you it was not my intention to beat up on Daydreamer. His responses seem reasonable and show his like for what I am sure is a great boat.

I sometimes sign on to Wellcraft20.com for the fellowship of others interested in nautical things. I obviously over stepped some unwritten rules.

Happy Holidays to all.

Personally, I don't think it's quite right to advise a seller that price is too high on open forum. I'd suggest that's appropriate for PM......personal mail that is.

But that's just me.............and as some of you may know, I believe solid V's and real clean V21' are collector boats, worth low six figures !!!

Now someone please tell me that seems " pricey."

Well no takers yet! I have decided that i am going to keep the boat.no 1 i absolutey refuse to give it away. Its in to good of shape!!! No 2 being retired i have to buy my own health insurance!!!!& its sky high. With what we will be paying i could buy a brand new boat and still pay less per month!!!!! No3 i will do a few things to dress it up that i have been putting off, new bottom paint, paint engine&replace trim pump, cut down bow rail and detail out the boat add gas nd enjoy the ride!!!!!!!!! If in the future i do decide to sell the price will reflect the upgrades that i will be doing.

Good choice Daydreamer. I always run into people at the ramp or the gas station that come up to me and tell me they used to own a V-20 and it was the best boat they ever owned and wished they'd never sold it.

Don't get me started on the health insurance.

I am about 2.5 year away from joining you DD.

I will have 30 years (29 years plus a year in sick time) with the city, I will qualify for reduced cost health insurance so I am lucky there.

I will be 50.

Big g you can make any offers. You never know but from what I'm looking at that boat is worth every penny of 9 g,s. I own a 1978 steplift cuddy and would not sell her for anything less than ten grand, is she worth it? To me she is, I have been on much newer boats and bigger too but mine is better. Just my opinion. Good luck. Getting into boating. They are old but they are the best
