Used to own a '95 a while back, good truck, friend of mine owns it now, no serious issues. What kind of engine? The 4.3 vortec has a few issues I don't like. What's she trading for?

I doubt the gas mileage will be much better...unless your Yukon has the 6.0 or 8.1 liter.

Agree with Randle about the fuel unless the Sonoma has a 4 cylinder, mine did.
I thought you only worked like a mile from home?

I do have the 6.0 and the thing is a thirsty beast. actually i'm about a mile, round trip to work but occasionally I play dad's taxi and the dam thing is a guzzler.

I had a 99 S-10 ZR-2 ext cab... factory with 31x10.50r15 tires and taller/wider suspension that the standard S-10/Sonoma's
Had the 4.3 and the best tank I ever got was 20 mpg though 16 was the norm (Heavy foot)
It was one of my favorite vehicles I ever owned.... If you get a 4x4 relace the input seals in the transfer case... common issue where the transmission leaks into the t-case and overflows into the vacuum system destroying the 4x4 font axle servo and the HVAC controls and also the transmission from low fluid

Ive had several of the sonomas, s 10's Blazers, etc... 4.3 Vortec is a good motor. But you arent going to see night and day difference in fuel. Put on your big boy panties and keep driving a real truck nancy boy.

I owned a 94 s10 4.3 I just got rid of it had 310,000 miles on it. The tranny went bad and had to much rust to get inspected never got more than 23mph.Never touched a drop of oil the hole time.

They're good trucks the 4.3 is a solid engine if it's the v6 model it's essentially a 350 v8 with two cylinders choped off. They aren't going to be great on gas. That being said I'd rather have the Yukon with the 6.0
