Headed to the coast!

My little boy turned 17 this week and he requested a trip to Holden Beach for some fresh oysters to celebrate...so we are heading out this afternoon.

Forcast all week has been for a rainy Saturday but they have changed it to sunny and 55 degrees and sunny and 65 on Sunday, maybe we can sneak in a little fishing while we are there.

Hope yall have a great time! A good friend of mine gets shrimp from his uncle there. His uncle runs shrimp boats out of Holden beach. Never been there, hope to go sometime.

Well we made it there and back safe and sound.

Saturdays sunny 55 turned out to be cloudy and 45, but today was sunny and 70.

The wind blew and the tide was wrong so we didn't wet a line, but the oysters were superb!

The only pic I took the whole time was of the dock next to my uncles on the ICW...thought it was pretty nice with the flag lit up.

Thats the way we like it...nice and uncrowded.

Its the third barrier island north (east really) of the North/South Carolina line.

We have ice and snow here right now...not a lot as most of it came down as rain before the cold got here, but it is quite a change from yesterdays sunny and 70.
