Tough day today, part of a triumvirate that hunted hill and dale in five states had to be laid to rest.
From the time he was ten weeks old he would find things in the woods and point it, and was afraid of nothing

Pheasant Grouse Chukar Woodcock and Quail were no match and he helped feed my family for twelve years. He showed my Son's what hunting over a great Bird Dog was all about. A winged Pheasant that sailed off a hundred yards and hit the ground running stood no chance whatsoever. Always brought back to my hand.

Many of my dear friends had the pleasure of great day's afield behind rock steady points.

Today a Great Hunter has passed after sharing many a campfire, and watching out for his family for many years. He made me look good in the fields in spite of myself.

His name was Solo

Willy, what can I say that hasn't been said already. I'm sorry that he's gone from your physical life. I know he'll always be in your memories, so he'll never really be "gone". Wish I had gotten to know him before he passed. He looks like he was a great dog. A true champion.

Willy I'm sorry to hear Solo had to go on...but death is as sure as life and you did the right thing for him on so many levels...giving him a home..a family...a purpose in life...and finally a dignified departure from this world...Some folks will tell you dogs have no souls so do not go to heaven...I'm here to tell you, that's what heaven is about...he'll be waiting for you when you get there...and y'all can do it again...

What a dog and what a send-off. Any dog should be so lucky to have such a master. RIP SOLO.
